Musik des Unterganges
An excercise in destroying to create, Musik des Unterganges is a rework of Thorstone's traditional piece for Violin, 'Cold Strings'. The source material has been completely obliterated and reformed into an entirely new piece, replacing imposed mathematical structure with organic, natural order. Inspired by Hesse's concept of the Music of Decline.

Aethyrik Drift
Certain emotional states cannot be resolved internally - they need to be externalized to be examined and understood. This piece is exactly that. Composed from recordings made on Seattle's waterfront on September 11th 2001, Aethyrik Drift is a mechanism to delineate the artist's personal response to trauma. Sounds of stone, water, and wood were used to invoke a sense of grounding.
